Assisting Students in Response to Allegations of Student Misconduct
Our Purpose
The Student Conduct Consulting Group (SCCG) was founded to serve the need for due process experts in student conduct matters where attorneys are restricted from participation. In most matters involving allegations of student misconduct, if the alleged behavior does not also involve pending criminal charges, many campuses have banned or significantly limited a student’s ability to use an attorney.
However, these matters can be very complicated, and many students are overwhelmed and intimidated by the policies, protocols and practices that govern the campus processes.
Our consultants are working and retired student conduct professionals with a wide range of backgrounds and expertise. The firm is based in southern California, where our base clientele reside, however, we are happy to discuss cases involving any institution in the U.S.
About Me
Hi, I'm Mr. Lingrosso! While I was college student, I began my professional career as a full time litigation paralegal in Encino, California. After earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles, I began a career in corporate investigations with the Enterprise Liability Claims Organization. In this role I was a lead litigation adjuster for the Enterprise Corporation in the California region investigating cases involving the Ford Explorer and Firestone Tire rollover fatalities in the mid 1990’s. I transitioned to a fraud investigations role at Infinity Insurance partnering with the National Insurance Crime Bureau to investigate organized crime groups staging accidents for profit in southern California.
In 2000 I left the insurance industry and began a career in higher education completing a master’s degree in Political Science and landing my first assignment as Assistant Director of Student Conduct and Ethical Development at California State University, Long Beach. During this time, I was assigned to advising fraternity and sorority life, student organization discipline and ethical development programming. I have worked in the best institutions of higher education that southern California has to offer including Loyola Marymount, California State University Northridge and Moorpark College. In addition to serving for the last 18 years in a student conduct officer role, I had been concurrently teaching political science as an adjunct associate professor at Los Angeles Valley College and completed a second Master’s degree with an emphasis in Higher Education Policy at Claremont Graduate University.
I formed the Student Conduct Consulting Group (SJ Lingrosso || Independent Student Conduct Services) after retiring as a Dean of Student Conduct as I recognized that the higher education system has a severely under-served need.
I look forward to hearing from you to understand more about your student conduct needs.

Have you been accused of cheating?
Accusations of plagiarism and cheating can be devastating to a very expensive academic career. Most professors are not properly trained to detect, evaluate and make conclusions about violations of the student conduct code. And most accused students are too intimidated to challenge an accusation.
Even if the student has made a questionable choice, or even blatantly violated the conduct code, it is important for them to fully understand the rules of due process before they sign a resolution agreement or accept a penalty.
Our services are tailored to assist with all aspects of student conduct matters, and our consultants are experts in the field of administrative due process. Including, but not limited to: investigation, documentation, and adjudication of matters involving institutions of higher education. Whether you are a student who has been placed on notice of a pending conduct investigation, an institution who is faced with a sudden complex case in need of professional investigation or adjudication, or an attorney in need of an expert witness who can provide testimony about higher education best practice or review a case for trial preparation, we have experts that can provide valuable information and save many hours of independent research within your firm.
